Turning Lord’s Red for Ruth: Raising Awareness, Supporting Families, Funding Research
Red for Ruth is more than just a day at the cricket. It’s a powerful movement raising awareness of the impact of an incurable cancer diagnosis on families – and raising vital funds to help them through it.
As the ECB’s Test Match Partner for 2025, the Ruth Strauss Foundation returns to Lord’s for Red for Ruth Day during the Men’s Rothesay Test Match between England and India. Once again, we’ll see the cricket community turn red in solidarity – sending a strong message of hope and support to families facing one of life’s toughest tests.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation is the only UK-wide charity supporting families where a parent is living with an incurable cancer diagnosis. We provide expert guidance to help parents talk openly with their children, build emotional resilience, and stay connected through uncertainty.
We also fund vital research into non-smoking lung cancers – to improve diagnosis, treatment and long-term care. These cancers are often overlooked, and funding is critically needed to bring about change.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joins in, spreads the word, and donates. Your support makes our work possible.
”Seeing more and more people supporting #RedforRuth means a lot to myself and all of us at the Foundation. Knowing we have the support of so many, gives us the strength and determination to continue our mission to make a positive difference to the lives of people facing grief. With many thanks from myself, my boys and everyone at the Ruth Strauss Foundation for your generosity, empathy and willingness to help – we are grateful to be delivering our mission with your support."
