One Mile, Lasting Impact

Vitality Westminster Mile

Date: Saturday, 26 September 2026
Location: St James’s Park, London
Distance: 1 Mile

On Saturday 26 September, to celebrate joining forces, we’re inviting supporters of the Ruth Strauss Foundation and Maggie’s to come together to run, walk or jog the famous Vitality Westminster Mile.

You’ll be joining thousands of participants for this fun and inclusive event for all ages and abilities, taking in some of London’s most famous landmarks while enjoying a great family day out. Best of all, it’s the only mile event that finishes directly outside Buckingham Palace.

By taking on the mile for the Ruth Strauss Foundation and Maggie’s, you’ll be supporting families affected by cancer. With six million more people expected to receive a cancer diagnosis between now and 2040, joining forces means we can extend our reach and breadth of support to help more people and families impacted by cancer.

Fundraising Commitment

We ask participants to aim to raise a suggested minimum of £50. Every donation helps the Ruth Strauss Foundation and Maggie’s reach more people and families affected by cancer.

Here’s what your fundraising could make possible:

£50 could help fund a parent’s peer support group session, providing connection, understanding and vital emotional support from others in similar situations.

£75 could help us provide a dedicated session with our Family Support Team, offering practical guidance and emotional support tailored to a family’s needs.

£100 could fund the online training of one teacher, equipping them with the skills and confidence to support a child facing grief in the classroom.
