Corporate Support

By working in partnership with the Ruth Strauss Foundation we will be able to transform the lives of people affected by the death of a parent. We want to work together with businesses to deliver outstanding, exciting and mutually beneficial partnerships. We’re proud to be supported by some amazing companies who dedicate their time, money and resources all with the vision to share our spirit and help us transform lives.

Whether you work for a leading brand or are a small business owner, a partnership with us will benefit your organisation and those we support. There are various ways that companies can choose to work with us, from brand licensing agreements, to sponsorship of our programmes or events. Companies from all industries consistently recognise the significant and rewarding impact their involvement with charities has on their business. Whether it’s a message resonating with consumers, engaging employees, supporting a personal cause or simply standing alongside the general public who share a common desire to do their bit, these relationships can be truly transformational and enable charities to fulfil their ambitions to provide support when it is most needed.

Major Gifts

The support of philanthropic individuals and organisations makes our ambitions a reality.

Their support enables us to develop programmes to the highest standard. Our work is never complete, and we strive to do more for people when they need us most. If you would like to be part of this, either as an individual, or through a trust or foundation we are here to support you.

With the support of significant grants from generous individuals and charitable trusts, we will be able to transform the provision of emotional support for families when it is most needed. We understand how important your contribution is. You will be kept updated on the impact of your support and our team will work with you and your Trustees to provide update reports, sharing the stories of those whose lives you have changed and ensure that your funding needs are met.

If you are connected to a charitable trust, foundation, Livery Company or other grant-making body and would like to support us, Alex would be delighted to hear from you at alex.cullen@ruthstraussfoundation.com.

Payroll Giving

Give while you earn

Donating a portion of your salary is one of the most efficient, tax-effective ways to support a charity. Choose The Ruth Straus Foundation and you can help us to help more families every payday.

How It Works

Setting up Payroll Giving is quick and simple. Each payday, your employer will take your chosen donation from your gross salary. The donation is taken after National Insurance is deducted, but before tax. This means that your donation will cost up to 45% less through the tax break, dependent on your tax bracket. Find out more on the HMRC website

Please note that Payroll Giving is only available for salaried PAYE employees.

Benefits For You

  • Tax effective – the only way to give that allows full tax relief on donations
  • Easy – quick, convenient and ideal for busy people
  • Secure – set up your donation without sharing your bank details and choose how you want to be contacted.

Benefits For Employers

  • Recognition – get noticed through the Payroll Giving Quality Mark scheme and National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards
  • Low effort, big reward – virtually no set up and running costs and minimal administrative requirements
  • Employee engagement – engage your employees by enabling them to support the causes they care about through their pay.

Next Steps

Ask your employer if they already have a Payroll Giving scheme in place. If not, suggest that they register with a company like Charities Trust and encourage them to find out more on the Charities Aid Foundation website.

If theres anything we can help with, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us at info@ruthstraussfoundation.com

Leave A Gift In Your Will

A gift in your Will has the power to change lives and give families the emotional support they need. By leaving a gift in your will, you can support our ground-breaking support programme and research into non-smoking lung cancers and provide help when it’s most needed for decades to come.

Legacies come in all shapes and sizes but every gift has the power to save and change lives. Bequeathed.org offer free Wills and valuable advice. Their simple and convenient service allows you to make the right Will for you in the way that best suits you – online, face to face or over the phone. You can take the first step by starting their online interview at any time.

The detailed guidance throughout the process will help you to consider everything you need to think about when making a Will, and to identify any issues where expert legacy advice could be valuable. This service is only available to supporters in England and Wales.

Gifts in Memory

Remembering a loved one.

Donating or fundraising in honour of a loved one is a wonderful way to celebrate their life. However you decide to pay tribute to your friend or relative, please know that we are deeply honoured and humbled to be thought of in this very special way. Your loved one’s memory will live on through our work and in the hearts of all those helped by your gift.

Every donation raised helps us to help more families with dependent children facing the death of a parent from a terminal diagnosis. Thank you for making this difference.

To find out more about how your donations make an impact, or select a project or area to support, please get in touch today.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a simple way to increase the value of a donation to charity.  If you are a UK taxpayer, the charity could claim 25p on every £1 donated from the Government at no extra cost to you. This means that if you donate £10, with Gift Aid, it’s actually worth £12.50. Which is great news for those we support.

As a UK taxpayer, you will pay tax on your earnings, pensions or savings, at either a basic rate of 20% or a higher rate of 40%. Therefore, as you have paid tax on your income that you are then donating to charity, the Government allows the charity to reclaim this tax back. You can complete a Gift Aid declaration for charities if the amount of UK income tax or capital gains tax you’ve paid in any tax year (from 6th April on year to 5 April the next) covers the amount of tax charities will reclaim on your donations.

In order to sign up for Gift Aid, you just need to complete a Gift Aid declaration.  You can complete an online declaration here or download and complete our Donation Form containing a declaration here and post it into us. Gift Aid can only be claimed on personal donations and does not apply to donations made on behalf of a group, raffles and auctions or collections.

Schools

With the Foundation’s focus on supporting families, schools are at the heart of what we do.

There are so many ways that schools can get involved and we will be delighted to support your fundraising with England Cricket signed merchandise, charity T-shirts or wristbands and access to bespoke content for your pupils to enjoy. We also will recognize the fantastic efforts of the schools that support us with a visit from a Ruth Strauss Foundation Cricket Ambassador to talk to your pupils and teachers about the Foundation, and our plans to help more families.
