One Donation,
Twice The Hope
This Christmas
One Donation, Double The Impact
Help us hit our £25,000 target!
Between 2nd – 9th December
For one week only, every pound you give between 2 and 9 December will be doubled by our ‘Champion Funder’ and Pledge Funder through the Big Give – helping us raise £50,000.
Give before midday on 9 December, or before we hit our target – whichever comes first!
Where Will Your Donation Go?
Each year in the UK, 46,300 children lose a parent – that’s roughly one child in every classroom.
For children facing a parent’s incurable illness, school can be the one steady place in a world turned upside down. But many teachers and staff simply don’t have the training to know how to help.
The money we raise will help expand our Responding in the Moment Schools Programme – free online training that builds school staff’s knowledge and confidence to support students through anticipatory grief and bereavement.
Together, we can help schools create compassionate, whole-school environments where no child feels alone when a parent is seriously ill.
A Christmas Riddle from Nigel Harman
Our ambassador sets a festive riddle to reveal the magic of your Big Give gift.
Watch RSF Ambassador Nigel Harman share a special Christmas Story. In this short festive riddle, Nigel delivers a playful riddle full of clues about something that grows bigger and brighter when kindness is near.
His rhyme invites you to ‘give once, help twice’ and brings a little Christmas magic to this year’s Big Give. See if you can solve the riddle!
The Impact of Last Year’s Big Give
See how last year’s donations doubled our support for families, and why this year’s campaign is focused on schools.
Hear from Kate, our Family Support Service Lead, as she reflects on the incredible impact of last year’s Big Give. Thanks to your support, we raised £45,152! This allowed us to double the number of support sessions available to families, triple the number of peer support groups we could offer, and deliver over 1,400 appointments to parents facing an incurable cancer diagnosis.
Kate also shares why this year’s Big Give is funding our Schools Training Programme, equipping school and education staff with the skills and confidence to support students through anticipatory grief and bereavement.
Give Once, Help Twice”"The Big Give is a chance to make a real difference. The Ruth Strauss Foundation’s Schools Programme gives school staff the confidence to be that steady, compassionate presence when a child’s world feels uncertain. I’m proud to back the Big Give this Christmas, helping more schools become a place where no child feels alone when a parent is seriously ill".
