Running for Liam
A Family United in Love, Memory and the London Marathon
“On 27 April 2026, it will be two years since we lost Liam at just 38 years old to non-smoking-related lung cancer. Not a day goes by that he isn’t missed.
Throughout his illness, Liam showed incredible strength and determination, fighting until his very last breath for the people he loved most. He battled until his last breath to provide for his wife and children. His loss has left a space that can never be filled, but his love, spirit and memory continue to guide us every day.
Liam was an inspiration to so many, but above all, he was everything to his family. That is why this year’s London Marathon holds such deep meaning for us all.”
Following in Liam’s Footsteps
Taking on the London Marathon
“His older brother Gavin, along with his brother-in-law Grant, will be taking on the London Marathon for the very first time. It’s a challenge Liam himself proudly completed twice – something he had trained hard for and truly loved.
While Gavin and Grant aren’t aiming to match Liam’s pace, they are running for something greater. Every mile they’ve trained, every step they’ll take on the day, is for Liam, carrying him with them in heart and spirit from start to finish.
The support of the Ruth Strauss Foundation has been a source of real comfort for our family during the most difficult times.”
At the Heart of It All
A Family Standing Together
“This year, more than twenty of us will be there in London, standing together and cheering louder than ever.
At the heart of it all will be Liam’s beautiful daughters, Athena and Ella Rose, whose strength and courage remind us every day why this matters so much.
Through them, and through this incredible cause, we continue to honour Liam and keep his memory alive.
This isn’t just a marathon, it is a tribute and a moment of remembrance for our family to come together, united in our love for Liam.
Thank you for helping us remember, honour and celebrate Liam.”
